This post is a non-specific overview.
You will quickly discover that Harry Potter is one of my favorite series to create programs for. Every year we have three large-scale Harry Potter programs: Harry Potter Birthday Bash, run on or near Harry's birthday on July 31; a pre-birthday bash for kids and adults not of Hogwarts age before the HPBB; and the international Harry Potter Book Night in February.
We sometimes have extra events during the year (we had a fun Harry Potter Murder Mystery for adults last year), but a lot of my effort goes into that Harry Potter Birthday Bash. The first year I went a bit willy-nilly (I had only a couple of weeks to plan it), but from there on out, I based each one on a book. We're going into Book Four this year.
This post is designed to show a lot of what I have to offer. I'll be posting about various aspects as often as I can, and I'll note where in the "book," (a heavily divided 3" binder) it would fall. Some posts will have a lot of parts, sometimes I'll just cover one. If you have a specific section you'd like to see more from, feel free to e-mail me (samma@phlib.org) and I'll make it happen next time I do a blog update!
There's a lot of magic, for those young and old, to be found in Harry Potter. It's one of my favorite worlds to live in. I write fanfiction, cosplay characters that showed up in the movie for two whole seconds (Charlie Weasley, I will never abandon you), and, obviously, run a lot of programs in Hogwarts and beyond.
Without further ado, the conclusion to this post, a very exciting table of contents!
